Tattoo Removal FAQ'S

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Tattoos are created by placing ink particles deep into the dermis, the second layer of your skin. While your immune system works to break down these particles over time, the ink is too large for your body to remove completely which is why tattoos may fade but remain permanent.

Our laser speeds up this natural process. The laser delivers short pulses of light energy that target the tattoo ink without harming the surrounding skin. The ink particles heat up, shatter into smaller fragments, and are then naturally carried away by your body’s immune system. With each session, the tattoo becomes lighter until your desired results are achieved.

How many treatments will I need?

Every tattoo is unique, so the number of treatments varies from person to person. On average:

  1. Complete removal: 8 to 12 sessions
  2. Fading for a cover-up: 3 to 4 sessions

Factors that affect how quickly your tattoo fades include:

  1. Age of the tattoo
  2. Size and location on the body
  3. Ink colors and density
  4. Depth of the ink
  5. Your overall health and immune system

What happens during my consultation?

Before starting treatment, every client receives a free consultation. We’ll:

  1. Review your tattoo and discuss your goals (full removal, fading, or partial removal)
  2. Explain how the laser works and what to expect
  3. Provide a personalized treatment plan
  4. Go over aftercare instructions to ensure the best healing and results

Is the treatment painful?

Most people describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Sessions are also very quick lasting anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes depending on tattoo size.

To make treatments more comfortable, we use skin-cooling techniques before, during, and after your session

How long will it take to remove my tattoo completely?

Laser tattoo removal is a process that takes time and consistency. Treatments are scheduled 6 to 8 weeks apart to allow your skin to heal properly. Some tattoos fade in just a few months, while others may take a year or longer depending on your body and the tattoo itself.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle-staying hydrated, exercising, and supporting your immune system can help speed up the fading process.

Are there any side effects?

Laser tattoo removal is the safest and most effective method for removing unwanted ink. Temporary side effects may include redness, blistering, scabbing, or swelling. These reactions are normal and a sign that your body is healing and flushing out the ink. With proper aftercare, your skin will recover naturally.
